I used to when i didn't have my pc and just a crappy laptop. Did that cause my ban?

Yes, GeForce now forces you to use their IP when accessing our servers and presumably someone cheated on it and got the IP for it banned. Nothing we can really do about it but if you don't use Geforce now anymore then I can unban your account and you will be fine to continue playing.
