I've worked on a few smaller servers as a moderator, and it mostly consisted of talking with people and keeping a vibe on the server. These servers are now closed.

I've moderated many discord communities for smaller influences or server communities. Many of these servers ranged between 400 and 1500 members. Although I don't interact with these servers for over a year since I took a break from the internet I did learn a lot about community management especially on the discord end.

In terms of skills I've been trained in mental health emergency interaction if that's an issue that may arrive. I also fluent speak French and can partially read, speak, and write Spanish.
What do you think makes a good staff member
What makes a good staff member is just being another member of the community. Being a staff member doesn't make one person special or better because of their rank, but they are put there as an example of community and the ambassador of it. That's what I want to be, I want to represent this server well.
